The 2017 Chrysler 300 is a full-size sedan that competes with the Ford Taurus, Toyota Avalon, and Hyundai Genesis. This year, it remains largely unchanged. However, the standard Uconnect multimedia system has been updated. The higher-performance 300C will be covered in a separate overview.

Two trim levels are available: the 300 Limited and 300S.

Overall, the 300 has a boxy, muscular design with minimalistic body lines. The front-end features a massive rectangular grille, rhombus-shaped headlights, a narrow-slit lower fascia, and Chrysler’s winged emblem. At the rear, vertical slab taillights take a diminutive presence in favor of clean lines for the trunk lid and blockish rear bumper. Standard features include power/heated side mirrors, a power trunk lid, a dual-pipe exhaust system, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Adaptive Bi-Xenon headlights, LED front fog lights, turn-signal indicators at the side mirrors, a panoramic moonroof, and unique 20-inch aluminum wheels are available as well. The 300S has an available Model Appearance Package with a more aggressive front-end with black-out accents, premium LED fog lights, and a rear spoiler.

Under the hood, the 300 is powered by a standard 292-hp, 3.6-liter V-6 engine, while the 300S is driven by a more powerful 363-hp 5.7-liter V-8 HEMI engine that produces 394 pounds-feet of torque. Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and standard rear-wheel drive (RWD) or optional all-wheel drive (AWD). Fuel economy for the V-6 models is an EPA-estimated 19/30 mpg city/highway (RWD) and 18/27 mpg (AWD). The ratings lower to 16/25 mpg and for the V-8 models.

Inside, the 300 has a standard leather-trim interior with a 60/40 split-folding rear seat. A unique, black rotary shifter replaces the conventional shift knob. The center stack feature the new Uconnect multimedia system, which includes an 8.4-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, Bluetooth connectivity for phone and audio, voice recognition, and dual USB ports. It can be upgraded with an integrated navigation system and a Beats premium audio system.
